Ladies & Gentlemen,

A very good evening

a.         It is indeed a privilege,  as the incoming president of the Rotary Club of Tebrau 2011/2012,  to be standing here to extend a warm welcome to all of you for taking the time to attend our 23rd Installation Dinner.  Though Presidents and Club Committees change every year,  the primary object of Rotary ,  which is to encourage and foster the ideal of service through development of acquaintance,  should not change.  It will continue to be the focus for the year.

b.         Rotarians are found to be a kindred spirit,  who share a passion about giving back to their communities.  To couple this with the common interest to enjoy Rotary through fellowship and companionship,  our aim will be to promote the Club and increase our membership.

c.         The Rotary International theme for the year is “Reach Within to Embrace Humanity”.  What we work to bring to others,  we must first find within ourselves because what we wish for ourselves is what others wish for themselves as well.  In the year ahead, we will have three emphases in our Rotary service:  to strengthen our family,  to continue what we do best,  and to change whatever needs to be changed.  We believe that our world can be happier,  healthier,  and more peaceful.

d.         During my term in office as the 23rd President of the Rotary Club of Tebrau, I would like to continue with our on-going projects namely the Orang Asli Medical Camp, the Law Awareness Programme with the lawyers and to continue with great fellowship with all Rotarians and their spouses.

e.         A project that is in the pipeline is a fund raising charity dance competition to raise funds for our club.

f.          With the above in mind,  I urge all the members of the Rotary Club of Tebrau to join me in Enjoying Rotary and Sharing Rotary during the coming year and beyond.

Ladies & Gentlemen,

Tonight is a culmination of many days and nights of hard work and I would like to take this  opportunity to thank our OC PP Ganesh Kumar and his organising committee for a job well done.

Chong Lee Lee

President (2011-2012)
